We’re happy to talk about our research to the media, members of the public and the local community, other scientists and government policymakers. The more people know about research and how it advances knowledge, the better for all of us.
We hope that we can apply our discoveries to the human condition:
- By gaining a better understanding of social life, we can obtain better insight into how classrooms can be populated, how teamwork can be optimized, how peaceful relations can be fostered and how to avoid trouble.
- Finding the genetic pathways that underlie patterns and rules of social engagement can allow us to gain an understanding of those individuals who have difficulties forming normal social relationships.
- Learning more about how social relationships develop can help us to find ways to help children adapt to their world.
